If you want the best vapor, the best features, and the best overall experience, the Lobo is the clear winner. Its vapor is fuller and more potent, and its feature set is top-notch. Heavy users and enthusiasts will love the swappable battery and intense vapor, and beginners will appreciate its consistency and effortless controls.

While the ONE doesn’t boast some of the standout features of the Lobo, it’s certainly no slouch. The ONE is a fantastic option if you’re a light user and/or on a budget, but you still want a vape that can perform.

Bottom line

The ONE is the best vaporizer for light users, beginners, or those on a budget. Vapor still packs a punch and our Glass Ecosystem is still yours to enjoy.

The Lobo is the best option for heavy users, transitioning smokers, and vapor enthusiasts. Its vapor is potent and full of flavor, and it comes with notable features like a swappable battery, solid oven size, and more sessions per charge.

What is the POTV Lobo?

The Lobo is the current flagship vaporizer of Planet of the Vapes. Designed by an in-house team of vape experts and connoisseurs, the Lobo is the result of years of vaping experience, careful analysis of community input, and a passionate goal to create our favorite vaporizer.

It was designed with a focus on the important aspects of the vaping experience - stellar vapor quality with no fancy techniques required, a rich feature-set, simple controls, and more - and ties it all together into a portable package.

It’s a fantastic vape for a variety of users with rich, potent vapor and a glass ecosystem always at the ready. Hits from the Lobo are dense and powerful enough to give you a taste of what desktop vapes are like, especially when you pair it with a tabletop bubbler.

What is the POTV ONE?

The ONE is Planet of the Vapes’ first exclusive portable vaporizer. Built upon a popular foundation, the ONE introduced the world to strong, portable performance and our signature Glass Adapter and Glass Ecosystem.

It doesn’t quite match the feature set of the Lobo - no removable battery and a smaller oven to name a few - but it’s still a worthy option. It’s a fantastic starter vape for newcomers that want rich vapor and solid battery life, and serious users that want a low-cost option that can still pack a punch.

Both have great vapor, but the Lobo is King

Both the POTV Lobo and ONE produce vapor that punches above its weight class, but there’s something special about hits from the Lobo that’s hard to put into precise words. Both produce effective results, but the Lobo’s vapor is fuller, strong and flavorful, and hits you harder from start to finish.

Despite its smaller stature, the ONE dry herb vaporizer produces thick clouds and solid flavor for its price point. If you’ve never used it before, you’ll be surprised at how well it can keep up, even with a smaller sized bowl.

However, the Lobo doubles down with deeper, more effective vapor that is usually reserved for vapes twice its price. Thick vapor is ready as soon as it vibrates and the clouds never seem to stop.

I highly recommend the water pipe adapter and a bubbler with these vapes, especially the Lobo. They both perform great with glass, but it feels like the Lobo was made for tabletop sessions with the power and dense vapor production it creates.

Only the Lobo has a replaceable battery

The Lobo is the clear choice for sessions that don’t rely on a limited power source. A weak point of the ONE is its shorter battery life and its built-in, non-removable battery. When the battery dies, so do the sessions. Better go find the charge cable.

For heavier users or those that forget to fuel up, this is really important. A session that ends abruptly is a major kill joy - if you know, you know. When the Lobo’s battery runs empty, it’s literally just a quick swap of the battery before you’re right back in it.

We love the ONE, but it’ll eventually become obsolete when its battery dies for good. There’s no replacing it. That’ll never be the case with the Lobo, so pick up a spare battery if you haven’t already. You’ll be glad you did.

The Lobo gets more sessions per charge

Enjoy more sessions when you pick up the Lobo over the ONE. With a long-lasting 18650 battery, the Planet of the Vapes Lobo delivers 10 sessions on a single charge. The ONE only gets up to 8 sessions. It’s not a dramatic difference but it definitely adds up considering only one has a replaceable battery.

Vape your way with our Glass Accessories

Both dry herb vaporizers come with our signature Glass Adapter to pair with our glass ecosystem. They both produce about the same level of cooling and comfort, depending on the glass stem you use.

Combine either vaporizer with our water pipe adapter and enjoy sessions through your favorite glass bubbler, or hit the road with cool, comfy sessions wherever you go with one of our mini glass bubblers.

The Lobo wins with the Water Pipe Adapter

I mentioned this earlier, but if you want the best experience with a tabletop bubbler, the Lobo and the water pipe adapter are the clear winners. The ONE will keep up and some will find their sweet spot with it, but the sheer power of the Lobo will maximize your bubbler in ways that’s hard to find with other compatible vapes.

If you love glass and want to pump the biggest, baddest hits through it, make sure you pick up the Lobo and the water pipe adapter.

The ONE heats up a little faster

The ONE heats up a little faster than the Lobo. It reaches temperature in about 30 seconds versus the Lobo’s 40, which is a great showing overall. We wouldn’t consider the Lobo slow by any means, but the ONE is noticeably faster with even quicker results when the oven is already warm.

The Lobo has a 40% bigger oven

Pick up the Planet of the Vapes Lobo dry herb vaporizer if you want the biggest oven. Both come with a stainless steel heater and a full titanium bowl, but the Lobo maxes out at around 0.2gs of ground herb. The ONE sits at around 0.15gs of ground herb. Both do well with small loads, but the Lobo is the one to reach for if you want to vape more per session.

ONE: 0.10 - 0.15g

Both have similar controls and settings

The Lobo and ONE share the exact same control setup: one power button and two temperature control buttons. Triple click the power button to turn it on and off, and use the two control buttons to choose an exact temperature.

The ONE comes with two settings:

  • Screen flip
  • Swap between Fahrenheit and Celsius

The Lobo comes four settings:

  • Change session timer
  • Screen flip
  • Swap between Fahrenheit and Celsius
  • Dark mode

The Lobo is easier to charge

The POTV Lobo adopts a modern USB-C charge port over the older Micro-USB found in the ONE. USB-C charges a little faster and its cable is reversible - it doesn’t matter which way you plug it in.

The ONE’s charge port is located on the bottom which means you have to lay it down flat to charge it. The Lobo’s is located on its side so you can stand it upright while it charges. It’s a small detail, but it makes a difference.

The ONE is more pocketable

The ONE wins in the portability test. Each vape fits inside a pocket or purse but the ONE is slightly smaller and lighter than the Lobo. Both become a little clunky when you pair them with one of the glass accessories, so keep that in mind if portability is a deciding factor for you.

The Lobo is easier to clean

Both vaporizers are very simple to clean but the Lobo is purposely easier. With the Lobo, all you have to do is poke the screen out from the adapter and soak it with any dirty glass pieces. The ONE is very similar except there’s a gasket that the metal screen is housed in that needs to be removed and cleaned.

As you see below, the Lobo also has a more convex loading chamber so the herbs don’t get stuck inside. The ONE’s design is more prone to small crumbs and buildup.

Which one should you buy?

Get the Lobo for the best vapor, more sessions, and more features

The Lobo is the clear choice if you want the best vapor, the best features, and the best experience. Sessions hit harder with fuller, more potent vapor and must-have features like a user-replaceable battery, generous oven size, and more sessions per charge compliment it beautifully. Whether you’re a first timer or a cloud enthusiast, the Lobo is the best choice for stellar performance.

Get the ONE if you want something more affordable

If you want something that’s affordable but still hits hard, and you don't care much for a replaceable battery or larger oven, the ONE is a great option. Its vapor is solid and you still have access to our entire glass ecosystem. It travels a little bit easier than the Lobo but you sacrifice better vapor and some of the highlight features. Again, if those features don’t knock your socks off, then you’ll be more than happy with the ONE.

Should ONE owners upgrade?

If you’ve always dreamt about a ONE that has better flavor, hits harder, and more features like a replaceable battery, then absolutely yes. You’ll feel a dramatic difference in the experience and you’ll likely never reach for your ONE again. Make sure you pick up a spare battery with the Lobo. If the ONE has been your go-to vaporizer with zero complaints, then there isn’t much reason to upgrade.
