TinyMight 2 Vaporizer Review: Best On-Demand Portable?

Is this the new Mighty killer? It’s up there with the best but I’m not sure I’d go that far.

The Tinymight 2 dry herb vaporizer entered the scene and was quickly dubbed “the Mighty Killer”. It’s fast, extremely strong, and comes with a variety of useful accessories to compliment its top-shelf experience, but comes with an expensive entry-point and a bit of know-how.

Exceptional vapor

Vapor from the Tinymight is a special treat. Vape enthusiasts see convection heating as the pinnacle of vapor quality and rich, flavorful performance, and the Tinymight showcases this perfectly.

Vapor from the Tinymight is fast and furious, yet delicate and sophisticated in its own right. Warm flavors are ready to greet you within seconds of firing it up and are primed to either hit you hard or gently flow to you depending on how you hit it. Soft pulls are light yet prominent while hard draws hit like a truck.

Purple heart version comes with a short stem with glass balls

The Purple Heart version of the Tinymight 2 replaces the titanium stem with a short stem with internal glass balls. Vapor travels up and through the crowd of glass balls and cools and refines it as it travels to your lips. The result is a comfier draw that packs a mean punch but doesn't feel harsh on the throat. I really like this addition over the titanium stem. Even though it’s much more fragile, the extra cooling without the need for water is a huge plus, especially at those bigger temps.

Battery life

As to be expected with a convection vaporizer, battery life is decent but not fantastic. I got around five bowls per charge, but some users have reported even more and even less. These types of vaporizers are extremely taxing on the battery and your mileage will vary depending on how you use it. For example, low temperatures in session mode will give you the longest runtime, while high temperatures in on-demand mode will shorten it.

The Tinymight 2 comes with a quick charge USB-C port, which I really appreciate, but the user-replaceable 18650 is the real star here. Testing and pushing this vape to its limits was easy with a couple spare batteries at the ready. Make sure you pick up a few to maximize your sessions.

Build quality

Two metal caps come together with a smooth walnut finish to bring you a robust, sturdy construction that feels nice and solid in the hand. It’s pocketable but heavy. It holds a shape similar to the Crafty+ and has some good weight to it that gives itself a high-quality feel but is very noticeable inside a pant pocket and you definitely don’t want to drop it on a hard surface.

It comes with a small drawstring pouch to store it and you can remove the glass piece for easy traveling when you’re hitting the streets or hiking up a few trails.

Herbs or concentrates?

The Tinymight 2 is a freight train with dry herbs but also comes with a higher setting just reserved for concentrates. Number 10 on the dial, also called “Beast Mode” switches to on-demand mode and bumps the temp high to around 450F (230C).

Only use concentrates on #10. NOT suitable for dry herbs.

Heat up time

This is easily one of the fastest vaporizers on the market with hits ready to go in under 10 seconds. The first hit from a cold start will take around 10 seconds but then it’s lightning fast throughout. I mostly vaped dry herbs between 4 and 6 on the temp dial, and it consistently was ready to go in four to five seconds.

Higher temperatures, around 8 and above, hovered around 10 seconds on average and rarely hit 15 seconds unless I was starting cold. It’s an outstanding showing that puts the Tinymight 2 as one of the fastest portables out there.

Tinymight 2 Vaporizer Review Session

Two exceptional ways to vape

The Tinymight 2 has both sessions and on-demand modes, and it does both really well. Not many vapes have both, and if they do, usually fall short on one or the other. The Tinymight 2 excels at both.

Relaxing Session mode

Session mode hits your set temperature and sustains it so you can enjoy as many hits as you’d like without holding the button in. Triple-click the Tinymight 2 and HOLD on the third click until it vibrates. Then, just set your temperature, click it once, and you’re off.

It’s great for taking a few hits here and there, taking a pause, and taking a few more hits as you please. You can also pass it around a group of friends with minimal instructions. “Just hit it” is all they need to hear.

Cool things to note

  • Sessions last a pretty long time on the Tinymight 2. I turned it on, set my timer, and it was still running well past the 10 minute mark.
  • You can also boost the temperature while you’re in a session by holding in the power button. It doesn't vibrate or flash but it supposedly raises the temperature as you hold it.

Quick hits in On-demand mode

On-demand mode is my personal favorite. Just give it a quick triple-click and then it’s ready. Click and hold, wait for it to vibrate, and take as much as you want. Release the button and it immediately shuts off. I’m a lighter user, so it doesn’t take a whole lot for me to hit the sweet spot. With on-demand, I take just the little bit I need and then set it down and come back later when I’m ready for more.

Numbered temperature dial

The Tinymight 2’s temperature dial, located on the bottom, is simple to use but doesn’t tell you much. The user manual has a reference chart for each setting, but you’ll want to dive in and find what works best for you.

I spent most of my time between 4 and 6. Vapor below 4 starts to thin out but is full of flavor, and above 6 starts to scorch the herbs and is better if you’ve got it on a bubbler. It’s not as easy as picking an exact temperature that you’re used to and running with it. You’ll need to experiment and find your sweet spot.

Thoughtful stir tool

The makers of the Tinymight 2 thought of all the small details. Convection vapes need a stir about halfway through the session and the Tinymight 2 has one at the ready when you need it. It sits perfectly in reach, right next to the mouthpiece, and is perfectly engineered with a perfect fit that is easy to remove and will never fall out.

The small holes on top of it aren’t just for looks either. The indicator light on the bottom shines up through the holes so it can communicate with you without flipping it upside down every few seconds.

Adjustable herb chamber

I love an adjustable oven chamber. I’m not a huge hitter so small hits and microdoses can take me pretty far and the Tinymight’s adjustable stem is perfect for this. The stir tool is the perfect length for any adjustments I want to make. I can push it one way for the tiniest of hits, or if I'm feeling adventurous, I can push it the other way for a huge session. The biggest hitters can take full advantage of this and push their limits, but even light users like myself can customize it to their liking.

Steep price tag with a slight learning curve

The Tinymight 2 is one of the most expensive portable dry herb vapes on the market, and you can’t just pick it up and use it. Options in the same price range, like the Mighty+, are really simple to use and only require a small trial run to get the hang of it.

The Tinymight 2 takes a little more know-how to get the most out of it. There’s no display screen. All you have is a light indicator that has a lot to say if you know its language, and a handful of button gestures for different features. Some of the button/dial combinations felt like I was sending a message in morse code so you’ll definitely need the user manual with this one.

For best results

For prime results, pack the stem with medium ground herbs up to the top with just a light tamp. Not too tight. Once it’s heated up, take a light to medium draw of about five seconds and exhale. The first hit will prime the herbs so jump right back in for even thicker hits.

Easy maintenance

Cleaning the Tinymight 2 is pretty straightforward. After each session, take the stir tool and scrape the herbs out of the stem and empty out anything that fell into the oven. If you have one, use a small cleaning brush and clear any herbs stuck to the sides. Do this after each session to prevent nasty buildup.

Who is the Tinymight 2 for?

An enthusiast's dream, the Tinymight 2 nails it in all of the departments that veterans pay close attention to, but it can fill a need whether you’re a beginner or a pro. If speed, efficiency, and raw stopping power is what you want from a vape, and price is not a factor, the Tinymight 2 is extremely hard to beat.

Who is the Tinymight 2 not for?

The Tinymight 2 is expensive so if you’re on a budget, steer clear. Even if money is no problem, this vape isn’t for you if you want something you can pick and learn within seconds. It requires a bit of practice to get started and requires a fair bit of experimenting to settle into your sweet spot.

Should I get the Purple Heart version?

The Tinymight 2 Purple Heart version offers a little more than your standard package. It comes with a more durable heater, a dosing capsule, a short stem with glass balls instead of the titanium stem, and a gorgeous purple finish. Its price is significantly higher than the standard, but not a whole lot changes. If you’ve got extra cash to drop, definitely consider it. Otherwise, the standard package will do just fine.

Conclusion

The Tinymight 2 is easily one of the best vaporizers on the market right now. Many have considered it the “Mighty Killer” and it’s easy to see why, but I'm not sure I would reach that far. They both serve different purposes, and excel at them. Regardless, this vaporizer was made with deep consideration of what’s necessary to create a well-rounded, absolutely effective experience, and it executes it all with precision. If you can swallow its expensive price-point, the Tinymight 2 is worthy of a spot in your collection.
